Himeno Tazuna's racing career

Thirteen starts and five wins in regional racing (Sonoda and Himeji), with four seconds and one third, for earnings of 5,057,000 yen. Bought for 16.5 million yen at the 2021 Hokkaido Training Sale, she debuted that year at Sonoda from the Nagakura stable in Hyogo and ran third. She won three of five starts in 2022 and two of four in 2023, but a pulmonary haemorrhage was found after a race on 24 February 2024 and her registration was cancelled.

Himeno Tazuna after racing

She was the first horse ever owned by the YouTuber Hikaru, and the road from the sale ring to her debut victory was filmed for his channel, so her name became known well beyond racing circles. She won five of her thirteen starts at Sonoda, but a pulmonary haemorrhage ended her career just before she turned five; after convalescing at TCC's horse shelter she moved in March 2025 to Zen Riding Club in Kaminoyama, Yamagata. Supreme, another TCC horse, had arrived at the club before her, and a club video released in September 2026 showed her settling happily into life in a group paddock.
