Can you visit Eishin Tsurugizan?

Visits are possible all year, from 09:00 to 11:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00. Get in touch by the day of your visit at the latest (two to three days ahead for groups; bookings are taken from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00). The farm's own reception hours are 12:00–14:00 and 18:30–21:00, and the telephone number is 0880-88-0086. Smoking, eating and drinking are not allowed on site; do not raise your voice, and do not feed the horses on your own. Ask the farm staff for permission before using a selfie stick or posting photos and video to social media. A visit can be called off at short notice depending on the weather or the horses' condition.

Eishin Tsurugizan's racing career

19 starts, 3 wins and ¥151.764 million in JRA racing. He won the New Zealand Trophy (GII, 1,600m turf at Nakayama) on 12 April 2003 as only the seventh choice in the betting, ridden by Norihiro Yokoyama, with Gallant Arrow second, and the following month finished second in the NHK Mile Cup (GI), 0.2 seconds behind Win Kluger. Fifth in the 2004 Kyoto Kimpai (GIII); at seven, in 2007, he was runner-up in both the Yodo Tankyori Stakes and the UHB Sho (both Listed).

True to his sire Sakura Bakushin O, he broke his maiden over 1,000m of turf — yet it was at a mile that he came closest to the top. In the spring of his three-year-old season he took the New Zealand Trophy as the seventh choice in the betting, then ran the winner of the NHK Mile Cup to within 0.2 seconds. After a layoff of a year and nine months he raced on until he was seven, and on 29 October 2025 he moved to Ashizuri Daddy Farm in Tosashimizu, Kochi Prefecture. The same barn is home to Clarity Sky, who won that same GI twelve years later, so the runner-up and the winner of the NHK Mile Cup now live side by side.
