Satono Gemini's racing career

One win from nine flat starts and no wins from two jump starts with the JRA, 11 starts and one win in all, with earnings of 7.95 million yen. The single win came from three runs in 2012, and he retired after jump races at Niigata and Kokura in 2015.

By Neo Universe, out of Blessing, a daughter of Maruzensky. When the wins dried up on the flat he switched to jumping, and once ran in the same race as Grazia, another TCC horse. In July 2018 he moved from Nasu to the Harmony Center's Tateshina Pony Farm, and at 1,100 metres above sea level at the foot of the Yatsugatake range he now plays schoolmaster for children's lessons. Staff rely on how well he switches between buckling down in lessons and chasing the ponies he lives with around the paddock, and he turned 16 on 22 April 2026. His sparse forelock is his charm point, and the local children adore him.
