Suzuka Lupin's racing career

4 wins from 100 starts in JRA racing, with career earnings of 158,880,000 yen. He won the 2016 Kamogawa Tokubetsu (10-million-yen class) and was runner-up in the Shimogamo Stakes (16-million-yen class) two years running, in 2017 and 2018. He raced for nine years, and the Shimogamo Stakes on 2 May 2020 was his 100th and final start.

Suzuka Lupin after racing

An iron horse who made it all the way to the 100-start mark and was then seen off by his connections to the Fukuoka University equestrian club. From the same crop as Gold Ship and Gentildonna, he carried a chronic fetlock problem in his right foreleg yet kept running creditably in the near-open classes for nine years. Now 17, he is a schooling partner for the students, passing on to young riders what his long career taught him. His habit of sleeping propped against the stable wall is another reason he is loved.
