Can you visit Cappuccino Coast?

You can meet her by booking through TCC's "Fureai Joba" reservation service. The menu covers hands-on time, photographs, led walks and trotting lessons, and bookings are taken from three months out until seven days before. Opening hours differ between the sources: TCC's partner-facility page says 9:00-17:00 with Tuesday and Wednesday closed, while the club's own site says 9:00-16:00 with every Wednesday and the third Tuesday closed, so confirm by phone (0267-52-2012) when you book. Riding may be cancelled on the day in strong wind, heavy rain or heavy snow, and no bookings are taken on days reserved for camps or events. Sakudaira Station is about 90 minutes from Tokyo Station and the club is about 30 minutes by car from the Saku interchange, with Kasuga Onsen and the Kokumin-shukusha Mochizuki-so lodge within walking distance.

Cappuccino Coast's racing career

4 starts and no wins in JRA racing, with no career earnings. She debuted at Hanshin over 1,200m on dirt on 20 September 2015 as favourite with Yutaka Take aboard and finished seventh (Prestigio won); two weeks later she was eighth as fourth favourite in another Hanshin maiden (Aorist won). She was pulled up in both of her remaining starts — Fukushima over 1,200m on turf on 8 November 2015 and Hanshin over 1,400m on turf on 19 June 2016 — and was deregistered as a maiden after bleeding from the nose during that race in June 2016.

Cappuccino Coast after racing

Her sire Vermilion won nine GI and Jpn1 races on dirt, among them the February Stakes, the Japan Cup Dirt and three straight JBC Classics, and Vermilion's own dam is Scarlet Lady, who is living out her retirement at Versailles in Hidaka. With Sakura Bakushin O as her broodmare sire she was sent off favourite with Yutaka Take up on debut, but after being pulled up twice she bled from the nose and her racing days ended in the summer of her three-year-old season; trainer Masao Sato introduced her to TCC Japan and her owner agreed to the move. In April 2017 she left Kibi Kogen Thorough Retraining for Mochizuki Equestrian Park in Saku, Nagano, where she now handles everything from led walks to trotting lessons and is known as a calm mare who begs members and visitors for treats.
