Meisho Yodo after racing
By Stay Gold out of Wedding Love. He debuted in the spring of 2011 at three and won once on the flat, but managed only three seconds in his remaining eleven starts. Switching to jumps in the autumn of 2012, at four, suited him: he announced himself with second place in the 2013 Kyoto Jump Stakes (JGIII) at five, and at six in 2014 he chased home Rule Prosper — another horse whose retirement is covered on this site — in the Kyoto High Jump (JGII) before finally landing a graded race of his own in the Tokyo Jump Stakes that June. His last run came at Niigata in 2016, and he now lives at Ritto Stable, a riding club in Arahari, Ritto, Shiga Prefecture, a few minutes by car from the Ritto Training Centre, sharing the place with fellow pensioner Savvy. He has been supported by the Meritorious Horse Support Programme since 2024, and the update his owner sent in December 2025 ended: "He is doing well every day. Please come and see him if you are in the area."
