Meisho Naruto's racing career
7 wins from 51 JRA starts (6 from 42 on the flat, 1 from 9 over jumps). He took two GIII races, the 2013 Kokura Kinen and the 2014 Tanabata Sho, and was second in the 2013 All Comers. Switched to jumps in 2017 and won once. Career earnings of 222.2 million yen.
Meisho Naruto after racing
A durable performer who won GIII races in the summer at Kokura and Fukushima and added a jumps victory at the age of nine. A serious injury to his left foreleg ended his racing days, and he now carries children at the therapy park in Ritto. Cautious with people he has just met, he comes to stay close once given time, and that slow opening up is itself part of the appeal.
