Savvy's racing career

22 starts and 6 wins in JRA racing (105.39 million yen) plus 10 starts and 1 win in regional racing (28.13 million yen), for a career record of 7 wins from 32 starts and total earnings of 133.52 million yen. Won the Summer Champion (Jpn3, 1,400 m dirt at Saga) on 12 August 2020 as the fourth favourite, 0.1 seconds clear of the runner-up Meisho Tensui. He also took the Tempozan Stakes (open, 1,400 m dirt at Hanshin) that June, finished fourth in the Telesai Hai Oval Sprint (Jpn3) the same year and third in the 2021 Tempozan Stakes. All 32 of his starts came on dirt, over distances between 1,200 and 1,600 metres.

Savvy after racing

A son of Street Sense out of Viva Voce, whose own sire was Alkaased, winner of the 2005 Japan Cup, he began his career by taking a maiden over 1,400 metres of dirt at Kyoto in February 2017. He climbed the conditions ladder one step at a time and came into his own at six in 2020: in June he beat a field that included a future top-class sprinter in the Tempozan Stakes, showing he belonged at graded level, and in August he won a head-bobbing finish in the Summer Champion at Saga to become an interleague graded winner. He moved to Oi as an eight-year-old in 2022 and ran until December of that year; after retiring he joined Ritto Stable, a riding club three minutes by car from the Ritto Training Center. He came under the Meritorious Horse Support Programme in 2026, and a report filed by his keeper in April 2026 describes him as very used to people and extremely easy to handle.
