Nice Gold's racing career
No wins from five JRA starts; a fracture ended his career early. He went on as a riding horse under the name Quattro Guts.
Nice Gold after racing
Born in the first crop of the much-loved Nice Nature, he never won a race but worked long and hard as a riding horse. He is now 28 and going well at Watanabe Farm in Urakawa, where his father spent his last years, supported as a foster horse. He lives with a chronic hoof problem and eats like a horse half his age. Saturdays are the visiting hours.
