Clincher's racing career

36 starts and 7 wins across JRA, regional and overseas racing (including 3 wins from 7 regional starts, and 2 starts abroad without a win). Second in the 2017 Kikuka Sho, winner of the 2018 Kyoto Kinen (GII) and the 2020 Miyako Stakes (GIII). In interleague graded races he took the 2021 Saga Kinen (JpnIII) and Nagoya Daishoten (JpnIII), then won the Nagoya Daishoten again in 2022. He also ran in the 2018 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Clincher after racing

The first horse ever to become a lead horse after running on the turf of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, he has worked at Hakodate Racecourse since 2023. Having raced on turf and dirt, at home and abroad, his job now is to take the runners out onto the track as the experienced elder of the group. When Hakodate Racecourse marked its 130th anniversary in 2026, he was featured in the commemorative exhibition as one of its six lead horses. Visit the summer Hakodate meeting and you can see him during the parade before each race.
