Meiner Fanrong after racing
A horse with plenty of admirers, for the nerve that brought him a graded win at long odds and the toughness that carried him through 48 races. In September 2024 he moved to Niigata Racecourse, the scene of his biggest day, and made his debut as a lead pony the following year. The JRA profile lets him speak for himself: small in stature, but set on becoming the star of Niigata — and a plush toy of him has been made too. On Niigata race days you can watch him leading the runners out.
