Mejiro Dober after racing
The last great star of the Mejiro dynasty is 32 and still working: she is a lead horse at Lake Villa Farm, settling the youngsters. She is gentle with newly weaned foals and hates being on her own. "She does better with company," the staff say. A grandmother who has never stopped earning her keep. Reports in the autumn of 2025 described her as lively as ever, with a sure touch around the young horses.
