Mutuary's racing career
Raced for a Funabashi stable on the regional (NAR) circuit. In 2021 he became the first regionally based horse ever to win the JBC Classic (JpnI), and was named NAR Horse of the Year for that season.
Mutuary after racing
Home-grown on the South Kanto circuit, he was the first regionally based horse to win one of the peaks of Japanese dirt racing, and his name belongs to the history of Funabashi. Since June 2023 he has served as a lead pony at his home track, Funabashi Racecourse, and he took that role again on the big stage of the JBC meeting at Funabashi in November 2025. In April 2026 he was called in for the filming of a Funabashi racing television commercial, carrying the track’s new ambassador on his back. On race days, besides his lead-pony duties, there are chances to see him in front of the lead-pony stalls in the park area of the course.
