Nakayama Festa's racing career

In the JRA. Won the 2010 Takarazuka Kinen and, later that year, went down fighting to Workforce in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, finishing second. He also won the 2009 St Lite Kinen and the 2008 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes.

The difficult genius who came within a length of the top of the world in the Arc left stud duty for Urakawa Yushun Village AERU, where he spent a quiet retirement with his glaucoma-affected eyes under regular care. In his last years he became an easy horse, and the sight of him turned out alongside fellow G1 winners Meiner Kitz and Oken Bruce Lee was one of the sights of the farm; many people came to see him. He died on 23 August 2026, at the age of twenty.
