Book by the day before through the Hidaka information centre for retired racehorses (0146-43-2121). Viewing is 14:00-16:00, closed Sundays; for a Monday visit, call by the Friday. He has a nervous side, so touching him is not allowed.

Smile Jack's racing career
Won the 2008 Spring Stakes and was second in that year's Japanese Derby. Also won the Sekiya Kinen and the Tokyo Shimbun Hai, and was twice third in the Yasuda Kinen.

Second to Deep Sky in the 2008 Japanese Derby, and one of the horses who gave that crop its colour. He won the Sekiya Kinen and the Tokyo Shimbun Hai and ran honestly on the big days. He is a sensitive sort and visitors cannot touch him, which somehow makes you want to watch over him all the more.
