Can you visit Red Laiya?

You can meet her by booking through TCC's "Fureai Joba" reservation service; bookings are taken from three months out until five days before, and cancellations on the day are charged in full. As of October 2026 the farm's own riding experiences, hands-on sessions and even plain visits are limited to members, as its official price page states, so non-members should book through TCC. Opening hours differ between the sources: TCC's partner-facility page says 9:00-17:00, while the farm's own site says 10:00-16:00 with reception closing at 15:30; both give Monday as the closed day, though public holidays are open during the hands-on season. The phone numbers also differ - 090-6234-5446 on TCC's partner-facility page and 0725-92-9199 on the farm's site - so confirm when you book. The farm is at 2041 Butsunami-cho, Izumi, Osaka: from Izumi-Chuo Station on the Semboku Rapid Railway take the Nankai bus bound for Chichioni, get off at Makioyamaguchi and walk about 20 minutes; it is close to the Kishiwada-Izumi interchange on the Hanwa Expressway and has parking.

Red Laiya's racing career

She never started a race and ended her career unraced, having fractured her pelvis at the left hip joint before she could debut; JBIS holds no racing record for her.

Red Laiya after racing

Her sire is Victoire Pisa and her dam the American-bred Red Elza; her half-brother Red Leon, two years her senior, was second in the 2020 Nikkei Shinshun Hai and is now recuperating at TCC Therapy Park in Shiga. A fracture of the pelvis at her left hip joint before she could debut left her unable to take her own weight on that hind leg, and she reached TCC's horse shelter held up by the people around her, but long treatment brought her through the crisis and she became a TCC horse in October 2020 once enough Umashare shares had been pledged. Since moving to Avenir Farm in Izumi, Osaka, in the autumn of 2021 she has taken part in hands-on sessions with children and in riding lessons, and she turned nine in February 2026.
