Can you visit King's Cross?

He is covered by TCC's hands-on riding booking service, though what you can book is contact and photographs. A fractured coffin bone means he cannot carry a rider. The site is a tourist retirement farm next to the Metasequoia avenue, opened in April 2025, where carriage rides and meeting the miniature horses can be enjoyed without booking.

King's Cross's racing career

One win from 17 starts with the JRA and one from a single start in regional racing, for 18 starts, 2 wins and 19,440,000 yen. He debuted on turf at Kyoto on 21 January 2018 and won the Wakaayu Sho at Kasamatsu, a JRA-exchange race, as favourite on 30 May that year. Switched to dirt with the JRA, he broke through in a 1-win class race at Kyoto on 13 October 2019. His last start was at Kyoto on 22 February 2020, and a fractured coffin bone ended his career.

King's Cross after racing

A dark bay son of Empire Maker. He travelled to Kasamatsu in the spring of his second season for his first win and added one more on dirt with the JRA, but a fractured coffin bone ended his racing life in the spring of his five-year-old year. After a farm in Mie and the Therapy Park at Ritto, he has lived since May 2025 at Metasequoia to Uma no Mori in Takashima, Shiga, where, unable to carry a rider, he takes on the job of meeting and greeting visitors single-handed. He turned eleven in March 2026 and, on veterinary advice, has begun exercise to build his muscles back up.
